My New Obsession

It’s February, can you believe it? I want to know how many of you have already cheated on your New Years resolutions? Raising my hand…slowly. After about 20 days of eating extremely clean, I cheated on my “NO Doritos”. In fact, one night my dinner was a bag Doritos and a glass of wine. I had a stressful day at work and the cravings just got to me. I mean my mind kept saying NO…but my mouth kept saying YES!

A resolution that I have not cheated on is my daily workouts. As I expressed in my last post I am in love with the Fit Bit. However, I have a new obsession that started about 30 days ago. It is the kind of obsession that you live and breathe for. In fact I think about my newfound love every night before I go to sleep.

Do you want to know what it is? Drum roll please…my new obsession is the Daily Burn! Have you heard of it? Are you doing it? I am so crushing on the Daily Burn. It is essentially an online fitness service that offers diverse workout programs, nutritional advice, and one on one coaching to meet all your fitness goals. In all fairness, the Daily Burn is like having your own gym at home.

But wait there is more! (I know cheesy). The coolest part of the Daily Burn is the Daily Burn 365. It is a fresh and new workout with a different trainer every day live from New York City. It airs at 6AM PST/9AM EST but it is on demand for 24 hours. You get a total-body work out in just 30 minutes. By the end of the workout, you are feeling sweaty but strong. The host JD Roberto is notably cute but most importantly he comes across as a very humble person. JD and the trainers create this positive energy that radiates through your computer. The whole Daily Burn team motivates you to want to come back for more kick-ass workouts all in the comfort of your home.

As a 10 year breast cancer “thriver” I have had to adjust my workouts through out the years. The Daily Burn provides many different types of workouts that include plenty of modifications for anyone who may have an injuries or limitations.  Now this is not free, but I can assure you that this is less expensive than most gyms or classes you enroll in. They have a free 30-day trial period. Thereafter, it is $12.95 per month. You can’t even get a decent martini for $12.95! Join me and be a part of the Daily Burn community. Now let’s go BURN!

Disclaimer: This is NOT a sponsored post. I am just very much infatuated with Daily Burn which has re-engerized my commitment to my fitness goals.

Beet, Quinoa and Apple Salad

Happy November! It’s finally cooling down in Southern California. The crisp cool air smells like the holidays and the beginning of overindulging in food.  I see in my future a load of tamales, cheese balls and lots of champagne. Mostly I am daydreaming of peppermint ice cream. I won’t tell you how many tubs of peppermint…Continue Reading

Smile

Male Perspective written by my truly super cool husband!     Every six months I go to the dentist for a cleaning. And every five months and 25 days I start flossing three times a day. “Have you been flossing regularly?” asks the dental hygienist. My response, “Of course, I have,” even though my mouth looks like…Continue Reading
